My guess is that you have visited Disneyland before, perhaps many times. But if I've guessed wrong, and this is your first visit, then this note is for you.

Searching for Hidden Mickeys is lots of fun. But it's not a substitute for letting the magic of Disney sweep over you as you experience the Disneyland parks for the first time. For one thing, the scavenger hunts I present in this book do not include all the attractions at Disneyland. That's because some of them don't have Hidden Mickeys! For another, the first-time visitor should get ready for fun by also consulting a general Disneyland guidebook for descriptions of Disneyland attractions, shows, dining, and other tourist information.

****i bought an annual pass in Feb 2012 and so did Lisa and my goal is to find all the hidden mickey's in this book during the year that i frequent disney. I am going to try and take pictures of all those that i can but some attractions do not allow photography and others well to be honest they move to fast to snap a picture :)

1200 caches that is 100 per month and totally seems doable. i managed (55) caches
525 scrapbook pages (this seems like a stretch because i have not really been close to this in the last two years) but i am hoping with my next goal i will be able to come close to it i managed (34) pages which is really good for me for the month of January. i am also tracking how many pictures i use so i will have to share that with you next month
6 scrapping events for the year. (1) i attended my first crop of the year on Jan 14 i wasn't super productive but i was able to stay on task for the year. I am wondering if i should count scrapping events when the girls come to the house to scrap ... but as i usually don't get alot done i am on the fence about this i will keep you posted .. the good news is that the girls came on 1/15 and i was able to work on page kits for march :)
12 books (yes i am going to be reading this yr) i have read 3 books this year okay 2.5 i finished Janet Evanovichs book 13 at the beginning of the year .. i am loving this series about the bounty hunter Stephanie plum so much so that i have also finished book 14 and 15 and started book 16 in January :) GO ME!!!

***personally i found this book hard to get into and it really didn't hold my attention, but i knew that i had to get through this to get to book 11 (maybe i had too much going on with the holidays)

The fun begins when Stephanie sets out to bring in bail jumper Eddie DeChooch, a crazy old codger who can't see as well as he used to, can't get it up (according to Stephanie's Grandma Mazur!), and can't hear too well, either. Maybe that's why, after his partner, Louie D., dies of a heart attack while they're pulling off a contraband cigarette deal, DeChooch thinks he hears mob boss Anthony Thumbs tell him to bring Louie's heart back to Jersey, when what Anthony really says is bring the "fart" back to Jersey.

It may even explain why, after accidentally losing the heart that he cuts from his partner's dead body, DeChooch steals a container of pot roast from a stranger's home and tries to send that back to Anthony Thumbs instead.

What it doesn't explain is why Stephanie is having so much trouble running down a bail skip who is old enough to date her grandmother, why Stephanie's friends Dougie and Mooner have mysteriously disappeared, and why Stephanie and her gal pal Lula suddenly find themselves chin deep in mud, brawling it up big time with two of the hottest female mud wrestlers in town.

And if that's not enough to make a girl spike cut her hair and dye it punk-rocker blonde, Stephanie still can't decide what to do about Joe Morelli, the man she loves and is sort of engaged to, and the irresistibly sexy Ranger, a fellow bounty hunter who knows just how to get under Stephanie's skin -- and maybe even into her heart if she lets him help her bring Eddie DeChooch in ...

***love the guys that are in the house that smoke way to much weed and are totally oblivious to what is happening and imagining lula and stephanie on the bike with the heart also made me giggle.

Locked in the top drawer of his desk are photos of a body, dismembered and stuffed into a garbage bag. And locked away in the computer files of a another average citizen are the clues that will lead Stephanie to Fred.

****enjoying reading about her turnmoils and the fact she can't keep a car is amazing .. and she kissed ranger .. it is also nice to know that ramirez will not be following her anymore .. he was creepy

I have a kindle and now i need to read read read .. the kindle allows me to read in bed at night with a very light book glow. So what should i read well my friends Anne, Kris and Ryann all decided that i should read Janet Evanovich .. something about this chick named stephanie plum. As most of my friends know i prefer Danielle Steel but hey i need to read so i download and pay for book one to see if i like these books and i have to say without a doubt i am hooked and glad to know that there are like 18 books in this growing series. Books 2 - 16 - i have in regular book format so i just leave the light on and poor tim gets no sleep but hey i am reading and that is all that matters

So i am reading along book one on the kindle and go to the gym where i can read uninterrupted for a period of about 35 min and before long i had finished book 1. I love the character of stephanie plum and the character of Joe Morelli. Even more i love the antics of stephanie plum, and grandma is a hoot in this book she shoots the chicken that was all prepared and waiting on the table to be eaten .... so love that scene.

We got to see this phenonmen on Sat Sept 24 ... it was quite amazing!
Red tide is a common name for a phenomenon also known as an algal bloom (large concentrations of aquatic microorganisms), an event in which estuarine, marine, or fresh water algae accumulate rapidly in the water column and results in discoloration of the surface water. It is usually found in coastal areas.

These algae, known as phytoplankton, are single-celled protists, plant-like organisms that can form dense, visible patches near the water's surface. Certain species of phytoplankton, usually dinoflagellates or diatoms, contain photosynthetic pigments that vary in color from green to brown to red.

When the algae are present in high concentrations, the water appears to be discolored or murky, varying in color from purple to almost pink, normally being red or green. Not all algal blooms are dense enough to cause water discoloration, and not all discolored waters associated with algal blooms are red. Additionally, red tides are not typically associated with tidal movement of water, hence the preference among scientists to use the term algal bloom.

Some red tides are associated with the production of natural toxins, depletion of dissolved oxygen or other harmful effects, and are generally described as harmful algal blooms. The most conspicuous effects of these kind of red tides are the associated wildlife mortalities of marine and coastal species of fish, birds, marine mammals, and other organisms. In the case of Florida red tides, these mortalities are caused by exposure to a potent neurotoxin called brevetoxin which is produced naturally by the marine algae Karenia brevis.

Week 26 June 26 - July 2

June 26 - a day to sleep in and a day to rest. We got up late and then headed to tom's farm ... awesome fruits and veggies and cool craft show and great home show and the wine store oh so much to do ... LOVE going to tom's farm. Home to tackle the laundry and cook dinner

June 27 - a day to myself. I cooked dinner and then sat on the couch to watch secret life of an american teenager. Sorted the laundry and did the dishes not bad for a day's work

June 28 - work dragged today.

June 29 Cache addicts tonight :) love spending time with the great people that i have met on this journey. Tracey Ben and Dawn Lisa Derrick and Maddy all came to the event :) AWESOME time and grabbed the local letterbox Hybrid

June 30 Today was a bad medical day. Room spinning and flashing lights made me stay in bed today. Dad and Mikey came and picked up the chair and now my livingroom looks so big. So nice to have the extra room.

July 1 Ran a few errands after getting off work early for the 4th of july holiday. In running these errands i picked up a teenager that wanted to spend the weekend at my house :) So blessed that at 18 he still wants to hang out.

July 2 - Happy Birthday to my little brother. Today we hung around the house playing board games and video games and even took the time to watch derrick make us some BBQ'd hamburgers ... days with friends and family are the best.

Apricots

Apricots are one of the first summer fruits. The are full of fiber, beta-carotene, and vitamins A and C. Drying, as a method of food preservation, has several benefits. Unlike frozen apricots, dried apricots can be stored at room temperature and do not rely on electricity to maintain their quality. Unlike canned apricots, dried apricots take up significantly less space and are processed more naturally, with less heat, resulting in a nutritionally superior, less altered apricot. Also, home drying your own apricots ensures they are sulfite free!

You will need
Apricots
Lemon or Lime Juice
Water
Knife
Oven, Window, or Dehydrator
Storage containers

1Choose the Apricots
Choose firm, mature, deep orange apricots and dry them soon after harvesting. Wash the apricot by spraying it with white vinegar and rinsing well. Remove any bad spots from the apricot.

2Cut the Apricots
Cut each apricot in half. Remove the pit. Press the skin of the apricot inward pushing the flesh of the apricot outward. This is called popping the back of the apricot and it aids in the drying process.

3 Dip the Apricots
Apricots should be dipped prior to drying to prevent oxidation. Oxidation is the browning of apricots when exposed to air. Oxidation causes apricots to lose some vitamin content. Dipping in lemon, or lime, juice is the most natural method of preventing oxidation. To dip apricots, cover the apricot slices in water with added lemon or lime juice for 5 minutes prior to drying them. You will need 1/4 cup of juice for every cup of water needed to cover the apricots.

4Prepare for Drying
Spread the apricots in a single layer. The apricots should be spread evenly and not allowed to overlap one another, as air should circulate freely between each piece of fruit. A glass dish is perfect for oven, or air, drying. If you are using a food dehydrator, layer the apricots evenly on the trays.

5 Choose a Dehydration, or Drying, Method
There are 3 general methods of dehydration: Sun (air) drying, oven drying, and food dehydrator. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.

*Sun or Air Drying - Sun, or air drying, is the most natural form of dehydration. It requires a warm day with temperatures near 100 degrees and low humidity. To sun dry apricots, place apricots in a sunny window. A car window can provide an ideal place for sun drying as the ideal temperature for drying apricots is 135 degrees.

*Oven Drying - If your oven maintains low temperatures, between 120 and 150 degrees, oven drying is a good choice for occasional use. It does not require the purchase of special equipment and is reliable when the weather isn't sufficient for dehydration. To oven dry apricots, place them in the oven and set the oven to 135 degrees.

*Food Dehydrator - A food dehydrator consumes less energy than an oven and is the preferred method of dehydration for regular use. If you dry a lot of food, and the weather in your area isn't ideal for sun drying, a food dehydrator is a consistent, low energy, dehydration method. Layer the apricots on the drying trays and dry apricots according to the manufacturers instructions.

6Test for Dryness

Apricots should have most of the moisture removed, but still be pliable. If they are crisp, they are too dry. Overly dried apricots work well for making apricot powder. See the "Rehydration and Use Tips" below.

7 Storage

Pack apricots in a moisture proof container such as a canning jar, or a sealed plastic container. Vacuum packing dried apricots will further prolong their shelf life, but storage in a glass, moisture proof container, is the most natural method. Label the apricots with the date of preservation. Store in a cool dry place. Dried apricots can be stored up to 12 months.

First day of summer! It is hot enough for it too LOL. Long day at work. Then home but before i get there i must stop by the store need a few things and have a few bucks .. no ATM card sure makes it rough .. but i am managing. Home to make dinner and cut cut cut. smash smash smash avocados :)

Today has been an emotional day. Today Derrick learned that a dear friend Charlie took his own life. A life cut short. He had just graduated high school and was about to embark on his greatest journey. My heart aches for the family and for his friends that must live with the question WHY? Had to stop by the store tonight on the way home for some lettuce and when i got home i had begun to crash (blood sugar) i didn't sit down and let it happen i fought back which gives you a horrible headache, but i made dinner burritos and i cut and smashed 25 more avocados ... woot woo we are going to have guac for a long time ... i actually made some for tim :)

GA - Event Geo Cachers Anaymous. Love the monthly get togethers to talk about the hobby that i have truely come to enjoy. Had a great time. Excited that Derrick decided to come :)

Avocado picking is what i did today, oh this was so much easier than strawberry picking and we had such a good time. Then we headed to the cache bash we were late but we still got to count it is a cache :) GO ME!!!

Ladies night Dinner, yep you guessed it we had dinner at Tracey's tonight. Great conversation and so many more mouths to feed as Tracey was babysitting.
This cold is sure making it a long week for me :(

Tonight is the full moon and this means that the grunion are back, so we are off, me, lisa, derrick and frank. We are going to dinner and off to catch a grunion or 100. Alas every beach we went to they were closed and we were unable to see the grunion :( WE did some caching and some laughing (at me as i sat huddled in the back of the van as they went over the bridges in long beach, thank god frank was driving i might have died)

June 16
Took today off to spend with derrick and recoop from the run last night as we got home at 2 am. We had a great time and better time this morning when a JAG Lawyer told us there is nothing that becky can do :)

June 17
Determined to do a grunion run we headed back to cabrillo beach. This time when we arrived there were really people there and we were in the right place. We paid our $5 and headed into the museum which was quit entertaining and then we headed into the museum for a very informative film on the grunion, then out to the beach where the bugs ate me alive!! But we got to see the grunion and that is why we went, Lisa was only able to grab one ... yes one little grunion but it was so much fun we might have to do it again :)

June 18
Suppose to cache and go to Jays graduation party, but with uncle tim's back being so sore, we opted to stay home. We didn't even shower to face the day until after five. He played video games and i scrapped what a great lazy day.

June 5 Slept in. Picked up lisa, headed to the PX and the commissary. Home to put away my good finds and make dinner and then to relax. Love days like this :)

June 6 Today i was feeling under the weather so i stayed home curled up with my pillow and blankie ... for a while i did manage to scrap :)

June 7 Today is Senior Awards night .. it is so bitter sweet i am so proud of all that derrick has accomplished but so sad to see him graduate!! went and bought his graduation present :) we gave him $100 bucks and 2 outfits

June 8 Today is the day .. i can't not crying!! I am so happy for derrick so i am not sure why i am crying. Everytime i think of the man he is becoming the tears poor from my eyes in both sadness and happiness. I am so proud of derrick... he ROCKS.. after receiving his diploma the kid in his own world jumped off the stage kicked his heels in the air in the excitement of graduating. I cried no tears as he walked across the stage ... i just beamed with pride .. CONGRATULATIONS DERRICK .. may you always walk with the zest of life that you showed today and may you accomplish so much in life :)

June 9 - walked the HILL .. i am attempting to get out of my rut and do some exercise :) thanks lisa for helping me :)

June 10 - Must hurry to finish the last minute things for the party tomorrow. Went to sams and walmart gave the stuff to diane and headed home. I managed to get 4 loads of laundry done and cleaned the kitchen stove (i made a mess)

June 11 Today is derricks graduation party and wouldn't you know it .. i had a vertigo attack so i was late :( ... i cried tonight as my sister thanked us for being a part of his life and he hugged me and thanked me for all we do .. Uncle tim cried too ... we cried more as we watched a video of him growing up and all those that have touched his life. Derrick is an amazing young man with nothing but the future ahead of him because of the awesome path that he has walked!

On a dreary stay home day. I slept in and then decided not to clean house in any manner. I decided it was time to hit the dungeon and actually produce something. I pulled out a kit from HeartStrings Designs and began assembling the pages. Once the pages were completed i added some pictures. Some old school pictures. I inked, cut, glued, added brads ... Oh what a feeling :)

FREEZING BELL PEPPERS

Not only can you freeze bell peppers, but it takes very little effort. Frozen bell peppers are great additions to eggs, soups, stews, chili, stir fries, and of course we can’t forget sausage, peppers, and onions. I use this not only for when I mooch off of my gardening friends, but whenever I see peppers on the clearance shelf in the produce section.

Get ready, because this won’t take long.

Slice or dice the bell peppers.

Scatter the peppers on the cookie sheet. Make sure there are no clumps or they will be hard to separate later.

Freeze by placing the tray in your freezer.
Scoop into a freezer bag.

Remove as much air as possible and return to the freezer.
That’s it!

This method is often referred to as flash freezing. By freezing the peppers as separate pieces it is easy to take only what you need for a recipe in the future. You will be able to bring a little of summer’s bounty to your winter table.

Your bell peppers will retain their quality for eight months if they are stored in a deep freeze at 0°F or below.

May 29 - Up and out the door early headed to Camp Pendelton, but not before we do some caching. Have to show lisa my favorites :) then off to shop and look for a bbq but lisa has a good idea and tim is gg to try that idea out. Then off to the commissary and then to Anita's more caching and home to a bbq :)
May 30 - Wakey wakey at 4:30 to the car in the carport on fire. It was the upstairs neighbor, no damage to my car but damage to other cars and damage to the safety that we feel living there. Off to Ekstrom house for a bbq then home for laundry and cleaning :)

May 31 a day at work or is it a day of rest :)

June 1 This is the first wednesday of the month which means CACHE addicts. This time I had invited Tracey, Dawn, Ben and Lisa to come to the meeting as part of our monthly dinners. We had a great dinner and enjoyed some night caching.

June 2 quick day at work and then off to derrick's avid awards. I can't believe that he is graduating.

June 3 - Been a long week. Lisa went to AJ's graduation and it was not a good scene. We took a long lunch and then decided to meet for some caching fun after work. At about 10 pm after lots of DNF's we headed out for BACON :)

June 4 - Time for some cherries. So off to the cherry festival we head. We had hoped to stay and see air supply but after walking through the grounds twice, eating, people watching and discussing what to do next, we opted to leave and head out for geo caching and dinner. What an awesome day.

I have been to the oceanside pier often over the last few years and this is the first time that i can honestly say that the pelicans were posing for pictures

May 22 - Its my birthday .. yikes 40 .. picked up lisa and went to the commissary and then home to unpack and make dinner. Got loads of well wishes on facebook made me feel special.

May 23 --I was feeling pretty bad because hubby didn't give me a birthday present on sunday. :( He just kept acting like everything was normal, so i was a little depressed when i went to bed i mean after all who turns 40 and doesn't want a present. Feeling gloomy this morning when i woke up i decided to call into work ... i'll come in late :( Well he walked me out to the truck and there was the most beautiful card and it brought tears to my eyes, when i noticed whati thought was a cell phone on the thing in the truck i picked it up to hand to him and he says HAPPY BIRTHDAY ... he had a kenmore radio system installed in my truck on sat and since we drove his car yesterday i had no reason to get into the truck ... OHHHHHHHHHH i knew he didn't forget ... IT ROCKS and now i can rock toby :)

May 24 Today is lisa's birthday and since her sister saw it fit to cancel her visitation, we (tracey and I) decided that she should not sit home and stew so we went to Joes for taco tuesday and friendship. Her dad and step mom showed up, frank, calvin, tracey, dawn, ben, tim, ahab, and a few more, we were at the bar until midnight ... what a great celebration for lisa.

May 25 Worked today and then made my weekly walk around challen hill today with tracey and ben. Tracey really pushed me this time, i actually sweated and jogged ... oh yeah what a good feeling.

May 26 nothing exciting in life today, just home and some cleaning and some much needed rest :)

May 27 AH work until 3 then off to the bank and to my sisters for my birthday dinner and to pick up nicole.

May 28 Spent the afternoon at the chili festival in riverside, who knew that there were that many different kinds of chili and that i would actually like some of them. I visited the vendor booths and spent a few dollars and then we saw all the old cars but not before a marshmellow gun was purchased ... YEAH the fun we are going to have with this one.

May 15 - Woke up with a horrible headache. Tim was awesome and made breakfast while i napped. Headache isn't gone but i am trying to stay awake. Today we (myself and Lisa) planned the makings of a rocking garden. I am so excited i have always wanted a garden :)

May 16 - Audiology appointement (ugh it always gives me a headache). I don't have to go back for 2 years it is great to be able to control my problems.

May 17 - GA Event at Tom's farm. Love that place took lisa with me. she is no longer a geocaching virgin. She had a great time. We had a blast showing her the brain on drugs cache.

May 18 Dinner with great friends :) Tracey and Dawn made us (me and lisa) sketti, salad, garlic bread and a chocolate cake. Friends rock

May 19 - Met lisa at challen park. Brought us dinner which we ate and then headed out to walk walk walk, yep i am walking these days .. i will win the obesity name!

May 20 - Dinner with new friends to celebrate our May birthdays. Dinner with Gail and Cindy at the Olive Garden is a great way to end the work week. Great food and great friends. After dinner i headed to my sisters for some cake pop making and friendship with family :)

May 21 - Slept in late and off to pick up lisa and met Frank at cindy's house for an awesome day of caching in palm springs. A first for lisa. It was super hot out there ... look for pictures soon

AVOCADOS

lisa has suggested that we grow and pick our own fruits and vegetables and for this i say YES YES YES!!!!
She has a contact that has an avacado orchard .. so let the picking begin ... but first i must do some research to discover can you freeze them ????

Avocados must be used when fully ripe. They do not ripen on the tree and are rarely found ripe in markets. Fresh avocados are almost always shipped in an unripe condition.

To test for ripeness by cradling an avocado gently in your hand. Ripe fruit will yield will be firm, yet will yield to gentle pressure. If pressing leaves a dent, the avocado is very ripe and suitable for mashing. They are best served at room temperature.

Once avocados are at a desired stage of ripeness, they may be refrigerated for up to 2 to 3 days

Freezing Avocadoes

You can freeze mashed fresh, ripe avocados if you want to have an "emergency supply" of avocados on hand for guacamole.

To freeze, mash the avocados with a fork. Add one teaspoon lime or lemon juice per avocado and mix well. The best way to freeze the prepared mashed avocados is to use a freeze-weight zip lock bag. Fill the bag with the mashed avocado. Remove the air from the bag and then zip closed and freeze. They saty for 4 or 5 months

Thaw the frozen avocados in the refrigerator or place the container in a bowl of cool water to accelerate thawing.

Did You Know?

An avocado is a fruit and not a vegetable! It is actually a member of the berry family.

In the past, the avocado had a well-entrenched reputation for inducing sexual prowess and wasn't purchased or consumed by any person wishing to protect their image from slanderous assault. Growers had to sponsor a public relations campaign to dispel the ill-founded reputation before avocados became popular.

Avocados got their name from the Spanish explorers. They couldn't pronounce the Aztec word for the fruit, know as ahuacatl, "testicle," because of its shape. The Spanish called the aguacate, leading to the guacamole we know today.

Avocados must reach full maturity before they are picked, however, they do not soften on the tree. The tree can actually be used as a storage unit by keeping the fruit on the tree for many months after maturing.

May 8 - slept in an packed up and headed home. WOW the wind was something else ... so scary i was afraid to drive. When we hit yermo honey decided that we could do a cache or two. UGH it ended up with a horrible hike to a cache called RIP yermo.
Home to a nice hot shower and movies :)

May 9 - another work week. It is awesome i have a job but i sure would like to be retired.

May 10 - frank texted he had extra tickets to the angel game ... guess where i went today YEP the angel game. It was wrestling mask night and they did a thing to get in the Guinness book of world records for the most people in the same place wearing a wrestling mask :) and the Angels won!

May 11 - today found out bank put a hold on my payroll check!!! YIKES super stressed got money in account but too stressed to do anything so i went to bed.

May 12 - after a 16 hour fast i did my lab work and learned that my A1C went down to 7.0 and slowly my cholesterol meds are working because those numbers are going down, however scary reports on the kidney's. Have to make appt with the dr to discuss. I did 4 loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom and changed the sheets on the bed (nice to get work done at home)

May 13 - no Joe today so little work was done. I made a BLT pizza at home. It was tasty and i was able to share with the neighbor :)

May 14 Went with tim to get hearing aides adjusted. It is so awesome that he can hear so well know. Went to Dianes for Derricks cap and gown photo shoot and senior pix shoot. I think i got 5 good shots out of over 100 so not to shabby. Then we had an awesome turkey dinner. Home to relax with the awesome man i married 3 years ago :) He is so good to me :)

Oh sunday how i love thee. Getting in super late last night more like early this morning after getting all the kids home from the prom sure made me tired. So today i slept and napped and slept and napped and well i think i ate some but went to bed by 9 ... i guess late nights are not my thing anymore :)

May 2
Today was the anniversary of V's death :( Tim took today off to be alone but that just didn't work out. We got a call from Dee Dee that Sonia was being released from west valley so we went and sat in the parking lot until she was released. we fed her, allowed her to shower and she went right to sleep. so many thoughts and emotions from the night ... think i will just go to bed :)

May 3
Tim took today off to be with Sonia. after work the 3 of us plus Lisa headed to the yacht club with frank and Calvin for some relaxation before the big event. Dinner at Hofs hut and then to seal beach for grunions ... sadly we saw no grunions but we did find a lot of debris. But we had a wonderful time.

May 4
I took today off to go with Luis Sonia and Isaiah to the beach. We drove down to balboa beach. Little man was so fascinated with the beach. He just didn't want to leave. We enjoyed milkshakes and french fries from ruby's on the pier :) Sad way for family to come but oh so much fun :)

May 5 WORK WORK WORK and then ready stuff to leave for Primm for a weekend of caching and hanging out with my favorite guy.

May 6
AHHHH sleep was eluding me due to the pain in my leg. But alas some muscle relaxers and i slept for hours. We missed caching in the mojave preserve but we did cache in jean up near the prison. We got 14 caches and did some minor off roading. I love spending time with tim :)

May 7
Up and going early. We decided to cache the states we got about 75 caches before the heat and the excessive walking took its toll on us. We headed to boulder had dinner at cheese cake factory then back to the room for some more sleep.

Our beloved Vicente died this morning at a quarter to two Colorado time. His daddy, mommy, big brother, and numerous family members by his side. We love you Vicente and will miss you with our whole heart! You are the light in your Dad's eye! You were a brave young man, through all your troubles in life you always managed to smile and make people laugh! Until we met again, dance with my granddad, grandma, auntie Rosie, and roger.

Thanks to all my friends that sat up with me until the wee hours of this morning. Thank you MOM ...! You being there for Tim and I means the world to us.

Easter Sunday. Up and made hubby breakfast he got up before i could serve it in bed :(
went to sisters and had an egg hunt :) dinner played milebornes with derrick and maddy spinning tops with devontae and kelsie and then home to relax and watch movies with my best friend :)

AHHHHHHH monday how i love monday night TV. However i have a new TV rule! If i sit and watch tv then i must do sit ups on the commercials ...wow 100 sit ups later my stomach is killing me :) Tonight was also dinner at Traceys ... there is nothing better than cooking and sharing a meal with friends

I COOKED .. yep after a long day at the office i made hamburger patties (so i could eat the bbq sauce we bought at the flower fields) and mashed taters (made with olive oil) and corn and garlic bread :) YUMMY. i uploaded all my pages that are done for the yr and i also scrapped 3 new pages that i will post later .. feels good to be busy again

April 27
Dinner with friends is always nice. It truly makes the day at work go faster as i have something to look forward too. I had dinner with Cindy and Frank at Don Joses. Cindy was so kind she had a big sign made for the GA events and bought me a book. A cup of coffee with the girls. :)

TOOTHACHEs are the worst and the worst part is the tooth has a root canal so i should not feel anything .. but i do and it SUCKS!

OH MY the prom is tomorrow i have nothing to wear ... oh wait i am a photographer i don't have to be snazzy just comfy. Excited for the kids. Today honey came home from work early and we went to a late dinner it is so awesome to spend time with him :) I got a box in the mail today from a great friend tracie. She sent me so many goodies so thoughtful and so unexpected :) nice surprises are the best.

Its PROM 2011- I am taking the kids to the prom. I am the photographer and tim is the chauffeur. We have Maddy, Derrick and Jay in our car. I took over 300 pictures. The kids looked great. I will post pictures in a few days.. I am just so blessed to be a part of a night that they will forever remember.

The fields today are a direct result of over 85 years of floral cultivation that began when Luther Gage, an early settler and grower settled in the area in the early 1920’s. Mr. Gage brought Ranunculus seeds to the area and began growing them in his fields next to Frank Frazee’s small vegetable farm in South Oceanside. This started a business called “Luther Gage Giant Tecolote Ranunculus bulbs”. The name “Tecolote” came from the owls that nested on his property.

When fire destroyed the modest Frazee ranch on the inland shore of Agua Hedionda Lagoon, the family was forced to move to Oceanside where Frank Frazee began growing freesia bulbs to make ends meet. At that time, freesias were in high demand, and Frank took advantage of cheap land leased by the city to expand his crop. In 1933, the elder Frazee added ranunculus to his crop and introduced son Edwin to the art of seeding, cultivating and irrigating the pretty but less popular flower. At the age of 16, Edwin Frazee quit high school to work full time on his father’s burgeoning flower operation

Over the next several years, Edwin Frazee settled into the farming life, and the family expanded its fields once again to the sprawling Santa Margarita Ranch, on what even eventually would become the Camp Pendleton Marine base. With his daily experience in the fields making up for a lack of formal schooling, Edwin became adept at continually improving his ranunculus crop.

Originally the flowers were single petal and ranged in shades of red and yellow. The beautiful colors and fullness of the flowers you see now are due to the careful selection done by Edwin Frazee over many years. If nature provided a full flower or an unusual color, Mr. Frazee would save the seed and plant them the next year. This resulted in full flowers in thirteen beautiful colors including picotee, (a mixture of variegated colors) that we have today.

By the 1950’s, his success at breeding a superior ranunculus bulb and a more colorful flower, with an unprecedented infusion of petals, known as a “double”, eluded his competitors and left him as the only commercial ranunculus grower in the United States. Frazee also became a leading grower of gladiolus, and the brightly colored fields at the Santa Margarita Ranch became an attraction to visitors passing by Oceanside on old Highway 101.

Concluding that ranunculus thrived best in a mild climate and sandy, well drained soil, Frazee expanded his ranunculus crop south to the Ponto region of Carlsbad overlooking the ocean and Highway 101, bringing the field of vibrant color even closer to the growing number of motorists traveling between Los Angeles and San Diego. Paired with equally stunning spears of brightly colored gladiolus, the site quickly grew as a popular, if unofficial, tourist attraction, even gaining the attention of photographers for National Geographic magazine. Frazee and his workers soon found much of their time taken up by politely, but firmly, rebuffing visitors who began helping themselves to free bouquets of gladiolus and ranunculus.

Grunion are two fish species of the genus Leuresthes: the California grunion, L. tenuis, and the Gulf grunion L. sardinas. They are sardine-sized teleost fish of the Atherinopsidae family of New World silversides, found only off the coast of California, USA, and Baja California, Mexico where the species is found on both the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of California coasts.

Grunion are known for their unusual mating ritual whereby at very high tides the females come up on to sandy beaches where they dig their tails into the sand to lay their eggs. The male then wraps himself around the female to deposit his sperm and for the next ten days the grunion eggs remain hidden in the sand. At the next set of high tides the eggs hatch and the young grunion are washed out to sea.

A related species the false grunion (Colpichthys regis) lives in the Gulf of California. Although the fish looks and acts similar, it does not have the same breeding method.

Week 16 - April 17 - 22

April 17 - Today was overcast and a little on the cloudy side but that did not slow us down. We headed out to Carlsbad to see the awesomeness of The Flower Fields. What a great site. We grabbed some caches and went to dinner what a great day to spend with my hubby :)

April 18 - Not sure what is wrong but the stomach thing has me beat. I did not manage to do anything today except sleep. Woke up after sleeping and watched the late airing of the secret life of the American teenager and make it or break it. UGH i wish this would go away.

April 19 AH slept in late boss is in Hawaii and taxes are done :) I still got that stomach bug not sure what is going on but i know that i am tired of it. Tonight is all about laundry. I managed a mere 4 loads but that means i am 4 loads closer to see the basket :)

April 20 TODAY KELSIE turns 9 .. i am not sure who told her it was okay to get big and have birthdays but that person needs to stop. I picked up maddy after work and we headed over for toastadas, cake and presents :)

Still not feeling 100% but yes i am feeling better. I managed 4 loads of laundry and parking myself on the couch for a while.

April 22
Ah off early today and feeling better. I managed to get the rest of the easter basket shopping completed. Went to the commissary and had lunch with my sister.

April 23
Up and out the door bright and early today. A tad nervous as i am taking my truck off the paved road for the first time today :) i can do this. We got about 75 caches on palomar mountain. A great day of caching :)

Went to bed super early last night, yet i still managed to sleep in :) Got up to Jo Jo coming. We got some flowers done, my hair is no longer needed a root color and cut.

April 11
AHHH MONDAY NIGHT TV .. yep i don't like monday night football but i do enjoy monday night tv this time of year. Make it or Break it is back on as is The Secret life of an American Teenager. So after my busy day at the office i headed home to assume the spot on the couch with a bowl of fruitty pebbles and the remote .. great time :)

April 12
Not really feeling up to hanging out with anyone. Went to work, ate chips and salsa for dinner, started reading dr phil and watched a new NCIS .. nothing terribly exciting but it is a great life :)

April 13
YEAH tonight is my event at portillo's. I need a geo caching fix :) Went to the event met some new friends and talked to some old friends and then grabbed 9 caches and did maintenance on 2 of mine :)

April 14
Today is work as usual and tonight is all about the laundry before i end up going to work nude i must wash some clothes :)

April 15
Well life is too short so live it to the fullest. When frank texted about going to the bowling alley tonight i hesitated and then decided GO FOR IT!... we had a great time so many laughs and so many new friends

April 16
Today we celebrated Kelsies birthday with her and 25 of her closest friends. Who knew that having a sleep over was so much work. Thank goodness for the inventor of the hula hoop and my brain. I was able to pull out some crazy hula hoop games to keep the children entertained. Kelsie and friends had a great time.

RECAP TIME

Kaylie is frustrated with her stay in Rehab, and wants more than ever to get back to training at The Rock. Maeve begins to coach Kaylie on what to say to get out of rehab quicker.

Steve introduces Darby Conrad, the 25 year old, two- time Olympian, and Silver medalist as the new Rock Coach. Everyone, especially Payson, is skeptical of Darby‘s coaching abilities. Lauren is overjoyed because Darby was Lauren‘s ―Big Sister at NGO camp. Darby meets the girls with a bubbly personality making her clearly more of a cheer-leader than a gym-leader.
Darby informs the girls that she won‘t be imposing any dating rules or curfews on the girls. She trust that they as gymnast and women have the self control needed for their profession.
Now that Darby is the new coach, Lauren asks to be her second in command as the new team captain in Kaylie‘s absence. Both Emily and Payson disagree that Lauren should be captain, and Darby has Payson and Lauren compete for the title.
Damon is back in Boulder to record, and Emily is happy because she can finally see him without sneaking around.
Kaylie‘s therapist approves Kaylie to go home but doesn‘t clear her to begin training. She suggest to her parents that she use this time to develop other interest.
Steve asks Summer for a second chance at their relationship. Summer agrees and they are officially back together again.

Marcus the NGO rep informs Emily and Chloe that the NGO has decided to keep Emily on the National team, provided she signs a contract that outlines rules such as no boyfriends, no job, and no social activities. Ronnie and Alex put together a recording studio for Kaylie to pursue singing.

Still upset that she can‘t train, Kaylie tells Emily that Damon can use the recording studio her parents gave her in their home.

Emily has to tell Damon that things must go back to the way they were before the rules were lifted but she is ready to have sex with him before they are separated again.

Week 14 - April 3 - 9

April 3 - Hanging out at home on the air mattress was a great way to start the day. Made Tim breakfast and got a late start for going to the CMA fondue party. Oh what fun we had even if the the CMA's started much later than we had thought.

Just hung out at home and went to bed early .. yikes i must be getting old

April 5 - Got up way to early because they are turning off the hot water for my apt complex and it looks like i am gg to be finding a place to spend the night because they are leaving it off until tomorrow .. they are replacing the hot water heater ughhhhhhh

April 6 - Woke up late for work, horrible bed that we slept on the shower wasn't great today is not my day! After work i decided that it was okay to go to the geo caching event and then we headed out for a cache .. UGH we didn't find it .. home to a hot shower and my bed :)

April 7 WOWSA got up early today ... GOOOOOOOO ME .. made it to the office early so that i can leave and make do some laundry so that i can go play this weekend :)

April 8 I am so stressed thinking that the federal government is going to close and tim is not going to get a paycheck and we are going to be in all kinds of trouble that i have made myself sick :( I stayed home from work. Went to dinner and grabbed a few caches with Cindy. Yeah for friends to talk to.

April 9 YIKES who gets up at 5 am .. me why you ask so that i can go to the dessert and geocache. We grabbed about 40 caches no DNF's and I forced myself to hike some yuckky hills and mountains to help grab caches :)

Watching the conutry music awards at Traceys was good reason to FONDUE it!

we dipped bread, apples, strawberry, potatos, pretzels, rice krispy treats, pineapples, brocolli, cauliflower, oreos, oranges and so much more.

Week 13 - March 27 - April 2

March 27 - AHHHHH another morning waking up at the river. I can not thank Kris and Randy enough for allowing me the pleasure of using the house for 4 of the most relaxing days of March!!! We got a late start but did some desert caching (loads of DNF's) and we even made a trip to oatman arizona (this town deserves its own post) :)

March 28 The river view in the morning is SPECTAULAR!!! an even later start this morning to our caching adventure. We did the other side of Bullhead city today and had much better luck with our numbers :) What a great day to be alive and enjoying the desert with my favorite person TIM ... and some really cool friends, cindy, mike and gail

March 29 AH today is my last day at the river the morning was rushed but ahhhhhhhh such is life. We loaded the truck, readied the house for the next visitors and headed out with a tear in my eye as i am just not ready to go home! We did some caching on our way out! SAW a snake for the first time while out caching .. yes a big rattlesnack and it was 90 feet long and 20 feet round and was about to strike and we barely escaped with our lives ... at least that is how i am telling it ... (see another post for the real picture) we headed home tim and i hung back from the group and did some more caching :) So excited to spend time with him as he was gone for 2 weeks

March 30 - Ah back to work day .. UGH not so fun so much to do but the good news is that Joe left early and i can do this work at my speed.

March 31 - So so so wish i was retired. Work, work, work, ugh but i guess i gotta do it to pay the bills. Today i finished logging the caches from the time at the river .. ohhhhhhhhhhh how i wish i was retired.

April 1 - Today was boring at work .. BORING ... the caches out there were calling me so i hit the road picked up derrick and maddy and went caching .. but instead i found some mud puddles and made my truck DIRTY!!! It was so much fun. Got my first FTF today .. harville trees .. yeah so excited. Picked up Taylor and went to dinner, then home to camp in the livingroom ... GREAT DAY :)

April 2 - Slept in a bit, made breakfast for tim and then the 3 of us hit the cache road to the bowling alley. It was great fun. Taylor bowled a 65!!!

Week 12 A week in review

March 20 Well tim headed back to San Diego today i am so proud that he passed the first part of his hazzmat school. We slept in late, did some vegetable and fruit shopping and then i headed to dinner with Michelle and Jim and the kids and Erica showed up .. GREAT FUN!!!

March 21 - Another day at the office but that is okay ... why because this weekend i am headed to the river for 5 nights and 4 days ... rest relaxation and CACHING .. so will i rest or relax probably not but it will be fun. I did loads of laundry and hung out at home tonight. Tonight i figured since non of my friends are going with me this weekend i had better figure out how to load the GPS :) I DID IT!!!! thank you cindy for the AWESOME directions.

March 22 - Took Frank out for his birthday :) Happy 30th birthday my friend (i think he is really 40 but we just want to stay 30). Had a great time at Don Joses with Frank and Cindy and then we decided to go get the lucky duckie cache (it eluded us the weekend before) tonight we got it and that led to more caching and for me to discover that i had left my GPS at the restaurant. Some honest soul turned it in ... THANK goodness for honest PEOPLE

March 23 WORK .. must get so much done so that i can leave on friday! UGH

March 24 Dinner with friends (TRACEY, LISA, and DAWN) sure has become the highlight of the month for me. We could have top ramen and i would still come back again. Calling it girl therapy is more accurate than dinner. These are some of my favorite nights. Thanks Tracey for starting them :)

March 25 - Quick day at work!! Waiting for tim's call so that i can go home and pack the truck and head to the river!!! Got a later start than i wanted but the truck is packed errands are run que is loaded and off to the river i go :) WE GO!!!!! did some caching before arriving there ... and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY PARENTS!!!!! 43 yrs is quite the accomplishment

March 26 AHHHHHHHHH to wake up the sunsetting on the colorado river is AWESOME. slow start to the day but that is quite okay. Love the lazy days of cooking breakfast with tim and just enjoying each other's company. We went and bought a few more things at the store and then did some caching .. I PUT MY TRUCK in 4 wheel drive for the first time nervous and scared but I DID IT!!!!!

My parents have been married 43 years today ... I do not have any awesome pictures to share (the funny thing is that my parents hate their picture taken) or any great stories to share just my own thoughts and memories of my childhood ... so glad that parents are still married :)

WEEK 11 - a day in the life

March 13 - today was a quiet day around the house. Tim left for san diego for hazzmatt school for 2 weeks. I took a nap and did a little computer clean up and slept some more.

March 14 - Just another all around day! The usual work, home and sleep!

March 15 Got a text today that some friends from high school were looking for a place to hang out. I suggested Joes and that is where we headed :) What a great night reminicings with old friends and mending the bridges that time has put between us. March 16 Nice day at the office. Went to the GA Event after work it was at Farmer Boys Woodcrest. It was so nice to sit on the pation talk shop and see so many new faces :) After the event we went caching which is alway so much fun :) Derrick even made an appearance :)

March 17 With tim being gone i haven't been able to sleep very well between that and the leg cramps it was a horrible night. So i took a pain pill and slept until noon, and i did make it into the office at about 2 and BOY did i work hard :) Thank god for understanding bosses.

March 18 YIKES late morning nothing seems to go my way, the truck is low on gas, the bank says i have no money, have to spend time away from the office UGH UGH UGH. Blood sugars tanked. But the good news is that tim came home tonight. We took a nap and then headed to the bar! It was great to meet up with Lisa, Michelle, Jim, Lani, Robert and his wife, Laura and her husband, Mellie and her husband and a few more that i can't quite remember. It is so fun to go back in time :)

March 19 - Early morning FLASH MOB at the Farmer Boys in Fontana, it was wet and cold but die hard cachers always show up :) Met some new cachers and talked shop before heading out to the caching trails with Frank, Rebecca and Cindy. Grabbed 39 caches before calling it a day :)
