Dazzling Completed pages for March 2009

Oh i had time to scrap this weekend. But as many of you have heard me whine, i have not printed off any new pictures to scrap and i am tired of scrapping old ones, so what is a girl to do! Well, this girl worked on swaps. I joined 4 completed page Easter groups. There are 4 people in each group. The first page is a pinkish purplish background. I used a sketch to create the layout and some more of those awesome cardstock stickers to embellish the page. I am actually pretty happy with the way it turned out and mass producing this masterpiece was easier than i thought. This is group 4 i believe. Group 3 gets this lovely blue layout. For some reason the blue is showing up much darker than what it is in real life. I used my doodlecharm cartridge to cut these super cute bunnies and the slot tool i snagged as a pif to get the holes from the ribbon on the top bunny. I used doodlebug organdy ribbon and some yellow brads. I used a sketch from heartstrings design to create the layout. Group 2 gets this awesome ORANGE layout. It is my favorite of the four I used a sketch to complete this layout as well, some queen and co felt eggs, some American crafts foam tulips, paper from my stash. The quote is not on all of the layouts but is is on this one and is from TLC. Group 1 gets this adorable layout created using a sketch, i used some cardstock stickers (pardon me for not remembering who they were by) and i used some little davis bottle caps. I like the yellow and pink.
It will be exciting to get these back as I will be able to hopefully complete my Easter pages.

SWAP SPOILER --- I love this group i am on ... they do complete pages swaps! So i joined one group got back the best pages and was able to do something like 12 camp pages! It was awesome the name of the group is DazzlingScrapbookingDivas@yahoogroups.com
I joined in 4 groups for this month they are ocean sports (i did surfing) / graduation (oops not done) Canoeing/Boating (i did boating fun) and Zoo! Without further ado here are my pages (please note that if you are in these swaps some pages maybe a little different (example the zoo pages have different animals but the sketch is the same!)

Swaps - Yes i worked on swaps --

I actually created lots of swaps this weekend they include fall swaps license plate; everything turkey paper piecing, everything turkey quote, bagged turkey word swap, bagged leave word swaps, created holiday tags times 2, bagged turkey swap for swap that work group and created a 4 piece page kit in gold and red for swaps that work so far this weekend, but what i am most proud of is my TURKEY Paper piecing ...

After doing my civic duty by going to Jury Duty today, i came home took a nap, and awoke abruptly when the neighborhood kids ball hit the living room window .. WHEW good thing too a 2 hr NAP YIKES!!!! Well, i had a snack and retired to my "dungeon" aka scrap area. Where i completed the swap for Lifetime moments. It was a to and from Christmas tag swap.

The Rolodex is for T's Treasures. It was a Rolodex quote swap. So 2 swaps down for November!

Swaps i have been working on

Like i mentioned before we had a great and lazy weekend! I was able to work on some swaps as tim graciously agreed to work on laundry tomorrow! I worked on swaps for swapping fun and games ... one of many of the yahoo groups i am in.

SWAPS i did today

Today was a swap day! We hung out at home. I cooked a big lunch and no dinner ... hee hee hee!

On Insane scrappers we are having an altered Rolodex swap for the months of the yr! How perfect are these just in time for holiday gifts. Simply include the persons name and birthday on a card slide it in and walla an instant calendar that you don't' have to update yearly!

I was in 2 spots, each spot was 2 months a piece so i ended up doing 4 months!

Swaps i have been working on

I know that many of you do not do swaps! I personally love swaps! I tend to use them and not just collect them, so i continue to join swaps. I know this is a total personal preference! I get swaps back i sort them and put them in their correct container this way when i am ready to do a page i don't' have to HUNT down the perfect kit that i got. Okay with that said, i have spent a good portion of the weekend working on swaps (as i am behind) The first set is an altered poker chip swap. I want to share with you all the hardest part of this swap was finding the poker chips, everyone kept telling me to go to the dollar store, i have to confess i went to 4 got discouraged and went to camp pendleton (those marines should have some huh, i paid more than a buck for them but hey i had them, now time to start) These had to be embellished a minimum of 3 times! My categories were Christmas / pointesettas; misc/ girly girly make up; princess Minnie; and misc Disney (i had originally picked stitch but wow it was really hard) i ended up with POOH BEAR and everyone loves pooh! When i get them back, my intention is to add a magnet to the back and give them away as Christmas gifts! (these were done for Lifetimemoments.com) **** Hint ... if you want to do these, the creative memories round punch is the perfect size)

My second swap of the weekend was a lake swap (for awesome swaps) I chose paper piecing not sure why .... for some reason i think that i can do these and then i start and think what am i thinking ... i came up with this sea doo ... i sure hope the girls like it!!!
Swaps three, four, and five are also for awesome. I did license plates in each group, movie night (love the new quickutz; thanks elaine); school and i took a second spot in lake.

The first entry is the RAINBOW page kit for awesome swaps. It is 4 elements and you chose your 3 colors - as you see i picked PINK / BLUE / PURPLE --- it is a cute kit just on the simple side. My second entry is my BASE BALL Quote! Another simple entry but i like my baseball pages simple as i like to accent the action in the pictures!

My Third and overly blurry (sorry) entry is ALTERED POKER CHIPS! Yes ladies and gentlemen those are poker chips! I used the old time CM yes "Creative Memories" circle punch it was the perfect size! SWEET huh. Well the rules said you had to use 2 papers a cardstock and a patterned paper and you had to embellish 3 times, so i did a mini paper piecing, chalking and edging ... hope that they are okay ... i have 3 more groups to do! WISH ME LUCK!

SWAPS SWAPS and more SWAPS

It was a swap weekend at my desk! You know when i was working on these it looked like so much more!

I did complete the angel spot kit for ISH theme was 4th of July! i did USA! 4 pieces - photo mat, journal box, 2 slide mounts and a license plate frame that they can add there own words too! Speaking of license plates i did 4 swaps on Awesome - my spots incase you can't tell were donald, snow white, minnie and belle ... i also started a page kit ot os called a rainbow kit, you must use 3 colors, i chose pink purple and blue (kits aren't quite done so you will see those later in the week!

Well this blog entry should catch you all up with my life!

Lets see i am still fighting a horrible ear infection we are on day 6 of antibiotics (and a shot in the gluts) and the darn infection persists!

So, i may just have to go back to the dr! UGH
I have had little motivation to work on swaps or pages or even be at the computer! And to think that school starts this week! I need to Hurry and find some motivation.

Well i did manage 1 page (no pix)! and i completed 2 swaps! (pictures at end of post)

But the most exciting thing we did except watch about 5 movies! is go to Camp Pendleton (Marine base for those of you with military pride)

Anyways the annual tent sale was this weekend! And man do i love those, do i love getting up early NOPE! So the nice marine i live with knows i won't get up early so he gets us a room at ward lodging (civilian language HOTEL but cheaper) SO that i don't have to get up with the rooster! But this man decides at midnight that he wants to be one of the first 100 people in line so he can get a 7 inch portable DVD player for $64! (oh i forgot to tell you my limit to spend was $500 (charging power)) see we aren't married and i don't' have a blue card (retired color) for base privileges so we can only spend his money on base! LOL ... but you know even $500 didn't get me out of bed! But when i finally got there Tim had already gotten a docking station for my IPOD and a DVD 2 outfits, monsters and a belt! But i thought he said i got to spend the money .. i am thinking that he is helpin me here!

So this is a tent sale (circus style tent) picture didn't come out! Big event on base ...

Big enough to bring out the Clydesdale's from San Diego! Cute pix huh! Look LOOK it isn't even noon and i am up on a Saturday with shoes and hair done! Big enough of an event to bring our those BUD Cars/Trucks ... for some reason though they wouldn't let me drive ... anyone know why????
Okay but on with the story!

I pursue the tent while he goes to get a hair cut!

LOOK LOOK hurry look at what i found! SHOES in every color and style! But i only bought 2 pair and both were tennis shoes one were reeboks and the others DC's ... now i am hip and cool if you ask Derrick ...LOL

I bought him a Christmas present while at base and since i am not sure if he reads this blog i am not telling you all what i bought but it was COOL! I got me 2 outfits and 3 shirts, Nicole under garments, Taylor 2 outfits, Iyana 2 outfits, Kelsie 1 outfit, Mom under garments, toilet paper, razors, juice, dew, chips, a holder for the DVD player, Heather (my prego friend see her blog) 1 outfit; all for the low price of $478 and we get a $25 rebate on that stuff ... HEY i didn't spend all $500 and he wouldn't let me go back in .... Party POOPER huh! LOL! Okay so that was my exciting weekend.

Sunday i finished up these swaps! Hung out with my mom and watched yet another movie!

Swaps Swaps Swaps ... I love swaps! I love to use them but this weekend i am not loving putting them together! I did 3 swaps this week for Insane Swapaholics (ISH) I also mailed out swaps for another group and that was 8 swaps i think! I have been swap crazy! But that will stop soon as soon as school starts! Without further adieu
the GET WELL card swap ... all i can say is that blue and green aren't cheery! I love the design of the card, the colors really pop in real life, just something about it doesn't' make me want to get well! Any ideas (i have a few days before i have to mail this one out! (BTW shout out to Anne for the flowers used on the get well cards) The FRIENDSHIP card red and yellow pop nicely! I used one of my CTMH stamps to create the image! I love the brightness of this card!

The DEFINITION PLUS ONE ZOO swap! Well, i started it on Friday night! Cutting the letters and out lining them then as time went on i managed to get the lions head done! The tiger and the elephant i finished on Saturday! I feel like this swap took a long time but they are such cute pieces! I hope the participants will like! I am always nervous when sending out my own paper piecing!
