Harvest - Bible study

Courage. Faith. Persistence. Prayer. Redemption. Does God work through the circumstances and events of people's lives to bring about His plan? Join us as we trace the stories of two ordinary people who risked everything to trust God's extraordinary plan to save their people and see their nation restored.

Our 2017-2018 Virtue study series begins October 4-5, 2017 and runs through May 2018.

Be still & Know

As young children we were asked the age-old question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” For some, our ideas changed through the years. For others, our passion rooted deep early on. Either way, we all wanted to know what we were made for. Fortunately, scripture sheds light on this.

…that our God will count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 (NKJV)

As believers, we hold a corporate calling to worship and glorify God. The Westminster Catechism asks, “What is the chief end of man?” and the answer is, “To Glorify God and enjoy Him forever.”

1. Has God prompted your heart with specific assignments? If so, list them.
2. What are your deepest burdens, and your unique strengths? Are there places you see these two overlapping?

We are loved. We do not have to do anything, say anything, or perform anything. Simply by being, we are loved. It’s at the core of our identity, the centerpiece of our very existence.

God's love hunts you down ’til you land on your knees. It knows no bounds, cannot stop, in spite of all our kicking and screaming. Then, it lifts our head, and cradles our heart. It reminds us who we were before all the running. And it begins the precious and painful process of bringing us back to life. You are so loved.

Be Still & Know

I bought Rebekah Lyons Freedom to fall book and am enjoying the worksheets, so when I saw her Be still & know study I decided that I would like to participate. I thought that I would share with all my blog followers. I hope that some of you join the study.
Thanks for joining me for Be Still & Know. I wrote this study because I think we need a daily reminder to pause. And breathe. And remind ourselves to find our confidence, purpose, rest, and freedom in a God who has it all under control.
Each day will feature a verse, encouragement for you to consider, questions for reflection and an image to share! The study is divided into 3 sections. Over the next 3 weeks, you'll receive 5 days of content for each section including a summary video on the 5th day. From there, you're welcome to use day 6 and 7 to reflect and review OR you can dive right into the next section. Go through the content as quickly our slowly as you'd like.

Questions:
  1. Is there something specific holding you back from stepping into Christ’s freedom right now? Perhaps risk, fear, doubt, or heartbreak?
  2. Free people free people. Is there a way you might help someone else discover Christ’s freedom?

Harvest - Woman's Bible Study

I decided about a year ago that I needed to learn about the Bible, everyone always talks about the stories and what not but I don't really know those stories. I asked my friend Sharon to take me to church with her and to help me learn however, she isn't allowed to laugh at my questions.

At Harvest they have a woman's bible study at different times, I chose Thursday night at 7. Last year I started in the middle in the program and I learned a ton, even bought myself a bible.

This year I am starting at the beginning the program is called V2 Virtue. Our First session is about

The life of David shows us he was a shepherd, king, warrior, adulterer, murderer, and psalmist. How can a man with so many inconsistencies be described in Scripture as a man after God's own heart. That's what we will explore in this new V2 series, Honest to God. Through key episodes in David's life, we will see how God can take flawed people and shape us into men and women after His own heart.

So I have printed my papers and will read my stuff on Wednesday night and then head to church on Thursday.
