Smash Books / 30 day challenges

It seems these days there is always something new and interesting in the world of scrapbooking.
A smash book just didn't have an appeal to me until about 24 hours ago and then i started blog hopping and many people are talking about this 30 day challenge and well i thought that this might be fun to do but i wanted to do it in a smash book style. So tonight while i am out and about i am gg to buy me and lisa a smash book and set a course full steam ahead to enter 30 days worth of prompts that i have taken from a blog that were from 2011. I think that this will help us on the path of discovering who we are ... we have 6 days to catch up on the challenge and with the idea of a smash book we can put some goodies in the book :)

yes i am a blog hopper and today i was reading Kathy's blog and came across a
great idea for a page and just had to share
Photograph a piece of jewerly
Can be an antique piece of jewerly or just a favorite necklace or ring that you
wear all of the time, but lets get those photos.
•Must have lots of bling and sparkle on your layout
•Must have some journaling, as to why this jewerly is important to you
•Have as many photos as you like, but ONE photo has to be of just the piece of
jewerly!!









I really think that i am going to do this!!

The picture will be of my wedding ring and the journaling will be that which my

mother in law sent me :)

NEW scrapbooking project

I was doing what i do best ... blog hopping and i went to kathy's blog and she had a challenge for 2010 however as we are out of 2010 i will do this for 2011. I just think that this is a great idea .. .oh what am i talking about well here is the idea ...

Yes, this was a 2010 project that I meant to do each month. Better late than never, right? The Project 12 challenge is simple. The idea is to create a two page layout on a monthly basis which recaps what you’ve been doing. Whether you took 31 photos, no photos, or 100 photos, simply choose your favorites that best described what you were doing that month, and create a layout.

6 new caches - 1 we placed our first cache on 3/6 and it has been found a few times

The SCRAPBOOK challenge that i am working on

Robin Reed is hosting this challenge at Who Gives A Scrap.
The challenge is to use 100 items on your layout, 10 pieces of 10 different items.
This really was a challenge! I believe it's pretty much mandatory that you have to create a 2-page layout to accomplish this challenge.

Page 32 - Cruise 2007

I used the sketch that i found on the sisterhood of scrappers blog to create layout 32 for the year. These pictures are of our shipped docked. We were in the hills of Ensenada and i was impressed that from almost anywhere we were we could see our ship. I also used the really big bazzill buttons that i had in my stash for well over 3 years. See what happens when you are okay to part with your supplies it makes for beautiful pages!

I always love a challenge. I haven't taken as many as i use to as i am trying to finish one set of pictures at a time so that i have enough of the same embellishments and color paper to finish the event. I had just finished my sea world pages and participating in the challenge at PST when i was blog hopping. I came across this challenge

SCRAPPING

Is something that i have not been doing this year so far, I am sad that i can't seem to squeeze in the time but I will work on a schedule to give myself a balance of school, home life, and scrapping time.

I was wondering with completing in excess of 500 pages in 2008 does anyone have a suggest on what my goal for this year should be????????????



I also used__1,587__ pictures with a goal of ___2,000___ i fell short __413___ pictures

Picture goal

As some of you know or may not know ... at the beginning of the year i set a picture goal (yes i wanted to use 1,000 pictures this year in my scrapbooking. Well by the time i got to March that goal was nearing quickly so i increased my goal to 2,000 pictures for the year. As i post all my layouts here on the blog the number of pictures can be verified ( i did count the pictures on the 8x8 layouts but not the mini book)
My numbers look like this:

Apr 110

June 205
July 51 (but it is only the 14th)
So todate i have used 1,041 pictures ...

Ah, spring....In my part of the country we are starting to see signs of spring. Trees exploding, crocus' springing, pansies blooming in planters. But, I know my friends in Cleveland just got 22 inches of snow. So obviously not all weather across the country is cooperating as nicely as Seattle weather.
