Today, August 23, I decided that I too needed a vacation day. (the boss is on vacation)
So i packed up Kelsie in the truck and off we drove to Anaheim, CA where we went to
visit none other than Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Sully, Boo and many more.
Disneyland is Celebrating being open for 50 years so there are gold hats and gold plated items all over the Magic Kingdom. They have painted and revamped the park! It looks great!
It is amazing to look at Disney and think that is it 50 years old! I have seen so many changes in my years of going there. From the maps, to the addition and removal of rides, to the closures of restuarants to the addition of an entire new park; California Adventure.
We arrived 2 hrs after the park opened and left at 4:15, thinking that we would beat rush hour .. UM NO .. it took us over an hr to get home and i paid $7.75 for the privielge of driving on the fast track lane. I must say today was a squelcher of a day here in this great state! I think the thermometer topped the 100 mark!
Kelsie was a dare devil in her youth ... at 4 now she looks at the ride and determines if she will be going on them. It was too cute to watch her observe some of the rides and tell me UM no auntie that one is too bumpy, or too fast, or it goes too high. We chose some smaller rides, basically we went on anything that goes in a circle and she can control the speed of the ride. Yes the tea cups were among her favorites. We visited Mickey Mouse's house (see pic); Goofys house (he wasn't home), Donald's Boat; Chip and Dale's tree house, we didn't visit Minnie's house (the line was too long).
After our visit to Disneyland, we treaked acrossed to go to California Adventure, where we rode the new Monsters Inc ride, and visited Bugs land.
We had a great time and Kelsie was such a good girl, i promised to take her back!

Wow I had no idea that Disney was celebrating 50 years already! How neat is that? It sounds like you and Kels had a GREAT time (and well since I chatted w/you during some of it, I already knew! heehee)
I hope one day I can bring my boys there, I was in my 20s before I was able to actually make it! Never did anything that cool when I was a kid - I think I was in HS when I first went to our grand amusement park, Great America!
Cool pics, tfs!!
That is so cool! I went there when I was 12, but of course, that was MANY years ago... Boy! do I envy you or what??? You have beaches all over, Disneyworld, gorgeous weather... I'm definitely green, green with envy!!!! And you look EVER so CUTE!!!
